Public performance at opening of pedestrian bridge
Commissioned by Kunsthall Oslo, Oslo
The opening of a new bridge for pedestrians in Oslo included a performance where approximately 100 people were standing in pairs spread across the bridge kissing for 2 full hours.
The bridge links two very contrasting parts of Oslo: the newly built financial district and Grønland, a part of the city known for its very colorful markets and a large immigrant population. Hinterland adds something ephemeral and warm to the function of the bridge and its sharp and cold architecture, bringing classical bridges known for kisses in cities such as Venice or Paris to mind.
